I have been fielding a few questions regarding equipment.
The organization will supply a hat and uniform shirt for each child.
Each child is expected to supply their own glove. Typical glove sizes for this age group run from a 10 to 11 inch glove. Although there will be an equipment bag supplied by Lucan Ilderton Minor Baseball for each team, we strongly encourage each child to have their own batting helmet and bat. An appropriate bat size would be between 26 - 28" long weighing 12 - 14 ounces with a barrel no larger than 2 5/8 inches in diameter. We also encourage players to begin wearing the proper protective equipment such as a cup for boys and a jill or pelvic protection for girls. Ball pants or cleats are not essential at this age group.
