UPDATE: Emslie Field unplayable - Saturday games postponedSubmitted
St. Thomas city workers have determined Emslie Field is unplayable and all games have been postponed until 2 pm Saturday at the earliest.
The city will update field conditions at noon today and a further update will be available at that time. Further rain may mean all play is postponed for Saturday. If play goes ahead today, the first game at 2 pm will be the one originally scheduled for 9 am this morning between Southwest 1 and Alvinston. That game would be followed by the continuation of the Oakridge vs. Byron 1 game, the winner of the Oakridge vs. Byron 1 game vs. Lucan-Ilderton and then St. Thomas 1 vs. the loser of Oakridge / Byron. If there is no play today, we will start at 8 am Sunday and games will be shortened to a time limit of no new inning after 1 hour and 30 minutes of play, with games stopping dead at 1 hour and 45 minutes. The goal would be to get in as many games as possible to try to finish the tournament this weekend.
