Lucan Ilderton U11 Tournament Rules

Coach Check-In

A team representative (coach or designate) must check in at the registration area at least 1 hour prior to the team’s first game.

At check-in, provide:

    A paper copy of the team roster including players' full names and jersey numbers

    Coaches’ full names and contact information

Pre-Game Requirements

Teams must be ready to play 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.

Coaches will be notified if games are running ahead of schedule and may start early.


Home Team Designation

Round Robin: Determined by coin flip.

Playoffs: Higher-seeded team can choose home or away.

The home team is responsible for official scorekeeping and must text the final score to the Tournament Convenor.

Both teams should confirm scores regularly throughout the game.


Game Length & Structure

A) Round Robin Games

Maximum of 7 innings.

The final inning will be the first inning after 1 hour and 10 minutes. This inning will be open

If the home team is leading going into the bottom half of the open inning the game will be over without the home team batting.

Ties stand in round robin play.

Run Limit: 5 runs max per inning, except for the final inning declared by the umpire, which will be open.

Mercy rule – 15 runs after 3inning, 12runs after 4 innings and 10 runs after 5innings.

B) Playoff Games

Maximum of 7 innings.

The final inning will be the first inning after 1 hour and 10 minutes. This inning will be open.

 If tied after final open inning, International Tie Breaker rules apply.

Mercy rule – 15 runs after 3inning, 12runs after 4 innings and 10 runs after 5innings.

C) Medal Games

6 innings, no time limit.

First 5 innings: 5-run max.

6th inning: open.

Mercy rule applies:

    15-run lead after 3 innings

    12-run lead after 4 innings

    10-run lead after 5 innings


Rules & Conduct

All umpire decisions are final. There is no appeal process.

#LetUsPlayZero tolerance for abuse. Any abusive behavior toward umpires, athletes, coaches, or staff may result in:

Game delays

Coach ejections

Team disqualification

Additional disciplinary actions at the discretion of the Tournament Convenor

All games follow PWSA U11 rules, including elimination and championship rounds.

Mercy Rule in effect:

15 after 3

12 after 4

10 after 5

Unlimited defensive substitutions permitted.
