2024 LDBA 14U Season Final
Despite the rainy weather over the weekend of August 16th-18th, the Lucan-Ilderton Athletics successfully hosted the 14U LDBAs at Lion’s Field, at the Lucan Memorial Diamonds. Although Friday evening games were completely rained out, our dedicated coaching and volunteer staff adjusted the schedule and managed to complete most of the tournament games by Sunday evening. The tournament concluded with the championship game on Monday evening.
The 14U Athletics team faced challenges with two of their games being delayed mid game for hours due to heavy rain. Despite these setbacks, the team members demonstrated sportsmanship by helping to prepare the field for play and assisting with the concession stand to serve the hungry, and sometimes rain-soaked, spectators. While the team didn’t clinch the LDBA title, we are incredibly proud of their positive attitudes and unwavering support for their coaches and fellow players.
A special thank you goes out to our outstanding coaching team. Coach Bob Grant, Coach Adam Ardiel, Coach Mark Migchels, and Coach Scott Bell went above and beyond, not only guiding the team but also skillfully managing the ever-changing schedules due to rain delays.
