Lucan-Ilderton Minor Baseball 7U Rules
1. Each game will be 3 innings.
2. All players will bat in an inning. Outs made will stand.
3. The inning will end when a play is made at home plate on the last batter.
4. Each batter will receive 5 pitches from the machine. Should the batter foul off the fifth
pitch they may receive another. If the batter has not put the ball in play after 5 pitches,
they will proceed to hit off the tee.
5. There is no stealing or leadoffs.
6. There is no infield fly rule in effect.
7. Runners may only advance one base on a batted ball on the infield. Should a batted ball
reach the outfield untouched, runners may advance additional bases at their own risk.
8. All batters must wear a helmet with a chin strap.
9. Players playing pitcher must wear a helmet with a chin strap
10. Players playing pitcher may not enter the circle around the pitching machine to field a
ball. Should a batted ball strike the machine or stop within the circle, the ball is dead and
runners advance one base.
11. Coaches running the machine must not interfere with a batted ball or with a player
attempting to make a play outside the circle.
12. The pitching machine is placed directly in front of home plate at a distance of 44 ft.
13. An 8 ft. diameter safety circle shall be marked off directly in front of home plate and its
centre shall be 44 ft. from home plate.
14. Bases shall be 65 ft. apart.
